House of Mercy orphanage

More than a decade after the April 1994 genocide, the effects of the killings remain. Thousands of children live on the streets, abandoned by the world.
The spectre of AIDS has continued to affect Rwanda. "The silent genocide", as it is called in Rwanda, is killing thousands of parents, leaving more orphans and street children.
RSVP has now bullt the House of Mercy. It is planned as the first of several care homes for abandoned and vulnerable children.
The House of Mercy houses 16 children. We have purposely limited the number of children to ensure the care provided is homely and up to an excellent standard.
Each child needs a sponsor, who will meet the costs of food, care and education (which will be £58 per month for each child).

The House of Mercy has cost RSVP around £25,000 to build. There are ongoing costs as the house is furnished and made ready for the children. If you would like to be a partner with us in our development work, please go to our donation page. A gift of any amount will make a real difference to the lost children of Rwanda.
