The genocide of 1994 claimed the lives of around 1,000,000 people in 100 days. As a result many children have been left poor and vulnerable to starvation, malnutrition, and lack of educational opportunities. Many missionaries and Christian leaders died or fled the country.
Few Christian leaders are available to teach truth and disciple those who believe. There is also a great need to spread the gospel, as many have never heard of the Good News of in Jesus Christ.
Our dream is to see Rwanda recover from the nightmares of the 1994 genocide to be a place where fresh dreams of reconciliation, healing and hope will be conceived and nurtured to become a reality.
Kigali Dream Centre will be a strategic place dedicated to helping the poor by meeting physical and spiritual needs.
It will be a place where the young generation of post genocide Rwanda will be delivered from nightmares of war and genocide and start dreaming dreams that will transform Rwanda and the continent of Africa for God.
At the Dream Centre we shall provide ministries that will rehabilitate street youth and provide jobs training, operate our child sponsorship program, a family centre that will provide skills for young women struggling in prostitution and poverty.
The Dream Centre will also provide a worship centre for New Life Bible Church and a four year bible college to meet the great deficit of leadership and training. Few pastors in Rwanda have any biblical training, and many have less than a high school education. Without biblically grounded leadership, many Rwandans mix their Christian beliefs with native African religion, resulting in religious practices that are not biblical. The Dream Centre will provide a theological education on a campus.
