Don Egan
Don Egan is the founder and director of The RSVP Trust. The formation of the Trust came out of Don's ministry in the Church of England where he served as an Anglican minister for 11 years, in two parishes - first in Manchester and then in Stowmarket, Suffolk.
In 1993, Don visited the Philippines where he encountered Third World poverty for the first time.
In 1994, he founded the Trust as he began a series of missions, returning to the Philippines in 1995 and afterwards ministered in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Nigeria as well as continuing to travel throughout the UK.
In 1997, Don witnessed amazing healing miracles in his meetings in Rwanda - a lady who had been blind for 12 years began shouting - "I can see! I can see!' In further meetings, we saw the blind see, the lame walk and the deaf hear.
In the UK too, healing regularly occurs when Don speaks. Blind people recovered their sight, joints and spines are healed of severe pain. A lady who was unable to have children gave birth to a beautiful daughter. A lady blind for 40 years recovered her sight!
Don is a regular speaker with wide experience in a variety of situations. He has preached in refugee camps, at Lloyds of London, in a BT Research Centre, in pubs, conferences, churches of all denominations and various other locations.
He travels to Africa once or twice a year and spends the rest of his time ministering in the UK and developing the work of the Trust.
Don is married to Hazel, and they have two daughters and a grandson.
After studying theology for three years in London, Don was commissioned in 1987 by the Archbishop of Canterbury as a Church of England evangelist. He is a Member of the Archbishops' College of Evangelists - not a building or a training institute, but a group of evangelists formally recognised by the Archbishops' of Canterbury and York.
Don is also an Associate evangelist with J John and The Philo Trust.
